2008 Bluegrass Open
2008 USAPL Bluegrass Open Jan. 5th 2008 Henderson, KY wt. 216 SQ1-440 good SQ2-474 good SQ3-507 good BP1-319 good BP2-341 good BP3-363 miss DL1-529 good DL2-573 good DL3-606 miss This was a very good meet. I lifted at this meet once before a few years ago and it has grown a lot since then. There where about 50-60 lifters spread out over four flights. The meet ran very smooth. The platform equipment was very good and all the judges and meet personnel did a fantastic job putting on the meet. This was the first time that I have ever competed raw. I loved it! This was probably the most fun I have had lifting since my very first competition. It was really nice not having to worry about putting all the gear on. I would recommend doing a meet raw to anybody, it was a blast. Overall I was really pleased with my lifting. Squats went about like I wanted. I had struggled with my technique all training up to this meet, but when I got to the meet everything kind of fell into place and my technique felt really good. Bench presses went pretty good too. My 3rd attempt with 363 stalled about half way up, I touched about an inch to low and was never able to get under the weight and lock it out. Deadlifts also felt pretty good. I pulled my 3rd attempt weight pretty easy in training but by the time I got to it in the meet I was gassed. Maybe next time. Re: The Omnipotence Paradox
This video is only on Sam's (a.k.a. DrObswolovitch) argument against omnipotence. No other arguments against omnipotence are considered; his argument against omnibenevolence towards the end of the video to which I am responding are not considered either. There may be other good arguments against omnipotence, but I'm only concentrating on this one. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/omnipotence/ : A philosophy article on omnipotence Sam's definition of omnipotence: "Omnipotence can do absolutely anything: it can defy every law that there is." My "definition": A maximally powerful being can actualize any possible state of affairs. A much better and more complicated definition of omnipotence: "S is omnipotent at a time t if and only if S can at t actualize any state of affairs that is not described by counterfactuals about the free acts of others and that is broadly logically possible for someone to actualize, given the same hard past at t and the same true counterfactuals about free acts of others" (William Lane Craig and J. P. Moreland. Philosophical Foundations for a Christian Worldview. Page 529.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logical_possibility : A wikipedia article on logical possibility; does a good job explaining what it means and how it differs from other types of possibility. Here's how I think Sam's argument goes: 1. If God is omnipotent, then God can't make a being more powerful than himself. 2. God is omnipotent. (Conditional Premise) 3. Therefore, God can't make a being more powerful than himself. (From 1, 2) 4. If God can't make a being more powerful than himself, then God is not omnipotent. 5. Therefore, God is not omnipotent. (From 3, 4) 6. Therefore, God is omnipotent and God is not omnipotent. (From 2, 5) ...and (6) is absurd; so one of the premises "has to go". I pick (4). (4) seems to require God to act in a logically impossible way to act... A quote from my video: "How can you have more of an ability if the ability is to max [already]?" The quote by J. P. Moreland was taken from "Scaling the Secular City" page 34.

Investing Secrets: How to Make Money in the Stock Market
http://www.lightshipmutual.com/mapthecourse You have a vision for an ideal future freedom to do all the things that you don't have the time or money to do now. But how do you pursue that vision? Your child's college fund isn't where it should be, Social Security alone won't support your golden years, and self-directed 401k plans have replaced traditional pensions. Nowadays, careful investment planning is critical. In this age of frequent job changes and parallel goals (retirement planning, college funding, etc.), many portfolios end up shipwrecked, loaded to the keel with accounts and flooded by random investments with no clear overall objective. Map the Course helps you identify and select a combination of investments that will allow you to weather the various market conditions you will likely encounter between now and the fulfillment of your goals. We will focus specifically on your children's college funds, company-sponsored retirement plans, standard brokerage accounts, and any other investments that have drifted away.
